Luminous Scoop: the first edition of TV Century 21

The Spooks hijack the front page in a publicity stunt ahead of their own debut.

The P.H. says: The later TV21 format was referenced by the 50 logo rotated through 90°, otherwise it was going to look like TV Century 50 because of the position of the moon which I wanted to retain, and this reminded me of how the title block was rotated on some covers to accommodate the layout. I loved that flexibility compared to the unchanging look of traditional comics. The Stop Press box was poking fun at myself, with the many pages of "coverage" reflecting the fuss I made about the theft.*

*Now in the plural as Spooky Steve's cat was also nicked as well!

And here's a closer look at that Fireball (sorry - I mean Furball!) XL5 picture:

Cometh the Hour: Death of Sir Winston Churchill

I remember the event well. And the commemorative stamp and crown, which I may have somewhere still. Do you remember the gum cards?

Who's That Lady?

Celebrating a first Xmas special in 1965, now something of a tradition (even if in 2020, it's actually next year!).

Look who's joined the Doctor inside the Tardis!

And there's some thing inside the Dalek - see picture below!

See? This is where I was.

(Sadly, not true - the P.H.'s original Whitie was stolen :-( )

All I said was, 'Call yourself a spook ?'

Alf hitches a ride, but the conversation does not go well.

Note the significance of the time shown on the clock & the dual use of the 'L' in 'Luminous'!

The '50' characters were courtesy of The Phantom Highwayman, the '5' being based on the number on a certain craft from a popular children's TV show from the mid 60s!
