About Mariano Laplume
Mariano’s passion for the performing arts began over 25 years ago in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he was born and raised. His musical journey started with Violin and Viola studies in 1999, and since then, he has performed in various styles and ensembles. He was a member of several Argentine Tango orchestras, most notably the Sexteto Milonguero, touring around the world.
As a dancer, Mariano trained with some of the most recognized Tango maestros in Buenos Aires. He partnered with Maral Kojayan for over 10 years, teaching in Buenos Aires, London, and Rotterdam. His teaching experience extends to Spain, France, Belgium, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Armenia.
Mariano is also an Alexander Technique practitioner, teaching in London at the Constructive Teaching Centre, the oldest and most prestigious AT school in the world. In recent years, he has focused on integrating his expertise in Argentine Tango with the principles of the Alexander Technique, exploring connection in the embrace, organic movement, posture, and musicality to inspire both professional and amateur dancers.
