Lab Tours

General Lab Tours

All lab tours will taking place on Friday, January 13th. The general lab tours are divided into six tour groups that are listed below.

Each will have tours departing the Harvard Science Center at 2 pm, 2:40 pm, and 3:20 pm. See the location next to the group number for the starting location!

No need to sign up in advanced, just come to the room below at either 2 pm, 2:40 pm, and 3:20 pm.

The labs within each tour group are listed in "Principal Investigator - Specialization" format.

Group 1: Science Center 104

Aizenberg - Biomineralization and biomimetics

Manoharan - Biophysics, soft matter, and optics

Aziz - Materials science

Weitz - Soft matter physics

Tour group 1 is elevator accessible.

Group 2: Science Center 105

Hu - Applied physics and EE

Mazur - Photonics

Rubinstein - Soft matter physics

Tour group 2 is elevator accessible.

Group 3: Science Center 109

Hoffman - Condensed matter physics

Kim - Condensed matter physics

Yacoby - Condensed matter physics

Tour group 3 is elevator accessible.

Group 4: Science Center 110

Levine - Quantitative systems biology

Needleman - Cell biophysics

Bloxham - Earth and planetary science

ATLAS - High energy physics

Tour group 4 involves a staircase of about 30 steps to get from the Bloxham group to the ATLAS group. No elevator access to the ATLAS group.

Group 5: Science Center 111

Gabrielse - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics and precision measurements

Greiner - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics

Doyle - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics

Lukin - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics and Quantum Information

Tour group 5 is elevator accessible.

Group 6: Science Center 112

Ni - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics

Cohen - Biophysics

Zhuang - Bioimaging

Tour group 6 involves a staircase of about 5 steps and a ramp of moderately steep inclination to enter the Ni Lab.

Center for Astrophysics Tour

The Center for Astrophysics (CFA) Tour will leave the Science Center Atrium at 2 pm on Friday to visit the following labs:

Walsworth - Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics, Astrophysics and more

Kovac - Cosmic microwave background

Oberg - Astrochemistry

Center for Nanoscale Systems Facility Tour

The Center for Nanoscale Systems (CNS) will be giving tours of their nanofabrication facilities leaving from Science Center 113 at 2 pm and 3 pm on Friday.
