hara – is mahaR^idra dEvaru. He is ahaMkAra tatvAbhimAni dEvata and manObhimAni. He was born from the eye brow of brahma dEvaru at the beginning of the kalpa. He started crying (rOdayati) as soon as he was born. He was therefore called 'R^idra'. R^idrAvatAra also takes place during praLaya. There are 11 R^idra-s. Out of them pARvatIpati shaMkara has the R^idra padavi. Since he is with umA, he is called 'sOma' (sa + uma). He carries the trishUla & Damaru. He has the elephant skin and wears the lion's skin as his clothing. He carries the pinaka bow and he is therefore known as 'pinaki'. Since he has the deer in his hand, he is called 'mR^igadhara'. Since he wears one kale of chaMdra on his head, he is called chaMdrashEkhara. He is also called gaMgAdhara and tripurAsura saMhAri. shaNmukha and gaNapati are his sons. naMdi is his vehicle. During praLaya ParamAtma exists as narasiMha & saMkaRShaNa as R^idrAMtaRgata and destroys this jagat.

hastOdaka

haihaya – is kARtivIRyARjuna rAja of haihaya dEsha. He belongs sURya vaMsha and he is the son of shaRyAti rAja. He is kARtvIRyARjuna. He had a thousand hands. It is said that, if one loses something or misplaces something and if the person remembers kARtvIRyARjuna, he will usually find the same very soon.

haimavati - i.e. the daughter of himavaMta rAja & mEnakA. She is commonly known as pARvatI dEvi.

hiraNyakashipu was born to kashyapa muni and diti. kayAdu was the wife of hiraNyakashipu. hiraNyakashipu had 4 sons called, prahlAda, sallAda, anuhlAda, ahlAda. prahlAda was against his father hiraNyakashipu. prahlAda was a great viShNu bhakta. In order to protect His bhakta, viShNu ParamAtma roared out of the pillar in the hall and killed hiraNyakashipu. hiraNyakashipu had dvaya jIva. By the curse of sanakAdi muni at the gates of vaikuMTha, jaya and hiraNya were in the same body of hiraNyakashipu.
