Dave Prochnow - Dave has lived on Lake Thoreau for years. During that time, he has obtained the the email address of many of the boat operators living on this lake. If you are a current lake enthusiast and have not received an email from Dave, I encourage you to have him add you to his email list. Dave is the go-to guy if you want to buy or sell a canoe, boat (sail, pontoon, deck, paddle, row), surfboard, and/or watersport-related accessories or if you have lost or found any of these items. Let Dave know what you want to buy, sell, have lost or found and he broadcasts it to the lakeside residents. Jerry Novak - Jerry only builds new wooden deck boats. He has lived on Lake Thoreau for over 15 years, built many deck boats, and is probably responsible for the wooden deck boat being a fixture on Lake Thoreau. Paul Tansey - a Reston-based business, lakeyachts@gmail.com, (703) 851-0033. Paul, a rising junior mechanical engineering student at Villanova University has started a business, Lake Yachts, to build and refurbish dock boats on Lake Thoreau. Paul has decking and dock boat experience. He and his partner are refurbishing a dock boat right now, replacing the worn out rotting deck boards with Trex composite deck boards as well as reinforcing some structural support beams and adding additional floatation underneath the boat. He and his partner are beginning to build a new boat shortly.
