The Harmony H803 was first released sometime between 1985 and 1987. It's basically an early version of the H804 design, but obviously gussied up to make the guitar look more like the popular "Heavy Metal" guitars of the time (B.C. Rich, Charvel, Kramer, Jackson, etc.) by putting a Gibson Explorer style headstock neck on it, and a textured, single ply, black pickguard. In 1989 the H803 was discontinued and replaced by the more traditional H804. The biggest change was the move to Strat-style pickups on this model.
