In 1979, Fender replaced their student line (Mustang and Music Master) with the Fender Lead series, a duo (later trio) of guitars designed with slightly smaller, double cutaway bodies. One of these initial models was the Fender Lead II - which this Harmony model is a copy of. However, the body shape is a little too flat on the bottom and the horns are a bit closer to a double cutaway Les Paul. These guitars were not that common and it appears they were only availible in Wishbook catalogs for one or two years in the early 80's before being discontinued. They are basically a similar guitar in circuit design to the H814 Flying V from around the same period. This guitar was also sold curiously under their "Marquis" label, though it's not exactly the same as the Samick built Hondo version.
