Chapter 2. The basic GVAR DdPS model (by Filippo di Mauro and L. Vanessa Smith)
The version of the GVAR model presented in Chapter 2 of the GVAR Handbook is based on that of Dees, di Mauro, Pesaran, and Smith (2007, DdPS), which is estimated for 26 countries/regions, the euro area being treated as a single economy. The estimation sample extends that of DdPS by eight years, covering the period 1979Q1 to 2011Q2.
