Portable (USB)

The basic functions and content of many of the software programs in this section are discussed in other portions of this web page. Instead, this section lists programs that are specifically intended for use on portable USB devices and are therefore independent of the host computer. That is, they write no entries to theWindows registry, create no folders or files in the Windows system folders, and make no entries in any user accounts (e.g., "Documents and Settings").

Many applications are programs originally created by familiar vendors but which have subsequently been modified by an organization called PortableApps.com.
