General Seattle Tours

General Seattle Tours

There are many tours available for you to explore Seattle. There are bus tours, boat tours, airplane tours, walking tours, and a couple of specialized tours that you'll find on this page. They all explore Seattle and allow you the opportunity to see the city and learn more about it.

I've been on this tour so many times I could be a tour guide - I can even recite all of the jokes. In two years I think I've gone 6 times. This is one of my must-dos for visitors. You get to learn about how Seattle started and explore some of the underground beneath Pioneer Square. Like all great cities it seems, Seattle had a fire and burnt down. After rebuilding, they regraded the area and thus buried the first level creating the underground. The daytime tour is great but I've also gone on the Underworld Tour, a 21 and older version at night time, complete with a drink. Let's just say Seattle's start is not very kid friendly, so if you'd really like to hear the details, check out the Underworld Tour.

I've been on this tour and it is quite an experience. It's suppose to be a fun tour of Seattle, with corny jokes, blaring music, and lots of duck references. Even if you are not into all of the hype, the tour is still pretty good. They drive through downtown which doesn't add a whole lot. I would recommend walking through downtown and exploring on your own since you only drive past the sights while on the tour. What I did really like about the tour was going out on Lake Union. I learned a lot about the city and the lake, including Gasworks Park, the house boats (Sleepless in Seattle was filmed on Lake Union), and even Bill Boeing's first seaplane. It's a quirky way to see the city but I would recommend it.
