In addition to all the unique activities that makes the Pacific Northwest unique and a great place to be, there are also the more traditional activities. If you're looking for some good, old fashion fun you can find miniature golf, bowling, curling, ice skating, and sports to play in the Seattle area. There's nothing better than getting a group of friends together and enjoying a rainy afternoon of bowling or ice skating, or enjoying one of those elusive sunny evenings miniature golfing after work.

Rusty Putter at the Golf Club at Newcastle
The Golf Club at Newcastle is very nice but they also a very affordable 18 hole putting course, the Rusty Putter. The club is atop a hill in Newcastle and offers an amazing view of Lake Washington with Seattle and Bellevue on both sides, as well as a backdrop of the Olympic Mountains. During the summer time, they even have a bag pipe player that plays at sunset.

The Granite Curling Club is the local curling club in Seattle. They offer leagues and open houses during their winter season, Fall - Spring. Their open houses are a perfect opportunity for someone curious about curling to try out the sport. The cost is $15 per person or $40 for a family. It lasts 90 minutes and you receive instruction on how to throw the stone and sweep. At the end of the lesson there is a short game as well, to test all of your skills. For those who fall in love with the sport, the club also offers 14 leagues to cater to different skill levels and competitive interests. The leagues are a lot of fun with a large social aspect. After (and sometimes during) the games the teams head up to the club house area to enjoy some food and beverages.
Fees: Membership is $100 and the average cost of a league is $100.

Seattle's laid back, fun sports league. There are varying levels of competition offered for different sports to allow those who would like more competition and a more serious game to do so, however, most of the sports are about having fun with friends. Underdog Sports League is a well established sports league that offers flag football, bowling, softball, dodgeball, kickball, mini golf, and volleyball. You can sign up as a team or as an individual and be placed on a team. There are officials at every game to make sure things run smoothly and everyone is obeying the rules. Most sports have team t-shirts available and all have a sponsor bar with specials for the winning team. The seasons run basically year round at various locations around Seattle. If you don't have a company league, Underdog Sports League can offer an alternate or even primary source of sports fun! I have played in the flag football, dodgeball, and kickball leagues for the past 2 years and have really enjoyed myself. Where else can you drink and dress up for playing mini golf or play dodgeball and kickball like your elementary school days?
