Available Events:
These are events the Service Unit would like to offer and/or suggestions we have received. If your troop or Juliette is interested in hosting any event listed, or have an idea for a new one, please email su9gem@gmail.com. The Service Unit 9 team can provide financial support up to $250 for an event you host.
You will need an Event Planning Packet, download one! All flyers must be submitted to your SU Team for approval at least 2 months in advance or as soon as possible. Also, please make sure to use the GSOSW Style Guide for all flyers and promotional items.
Fundraising Event for Your Troop:
Troops can also hold an event that is open to other troops and keep the profit in your troop bank account. First, you need to review GSOSW rules about money-earning and adult fundraising. Then, submit an application to GSOSW here for money-earning event.
This kind of event would not have financial support from the Service Unit, however we could promote it for you.

SU9 Event Registration, Cancellation and Refund Policy:
The Service Unit 9 Team works hard with local troops to plan fun activities throughout the year. There is a lot of behind the scenes paperwork, planning and prep that goes into these activities. We always budget events knowing we are using SU9 funds to make the events cheaper for troops and Juliettes to attend - but we need your help to implement cost-effective activities. We've noticed an uptick in last minute cancellations and a request for registration refunds. Moving forward, SU9 is adopting the following policy:
Pre-registration of events will cost less than at the door payment. (e.g., $3 pre-registration and $5 at the door)
Registration fees of events at $5 and under per person will not be refunded.
Registration fees of events over $5 will be refunded with at least three weeks notice for anything that is not already purchased. (e.g., lodging probably not refundable, whereas supplies and/or food may be) Registration fees over $5 per person with less than three weeks notice are not refundable.
The goal of this policy is to help us plan by encouraging people to register early AND to slow the financial loss of no-show attendees. We understand that the families in your troop may be making the last-minute cancellations that are affecting your troop numbers. For that reason, we strongly encourage you to adopt a similar policy in your own troop. It is completely acceptable to ask families to pay back the troop 100% of the cost of the event if they are a last minute cancellation or no show. You may choose to make an exception for illness or emergencies, and that's great. There may be some families that are unable to afford payment back to the troop and it's of course to make exceptions for that as well.
