Bridging Basics - look in your Girl Guide to find the requirements for Bridging to the next level (1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th, 10th & 12th grades bridge). The requirements include looking up a level and talking to girls in the level you will be bridging into AND looking back to the level you were previously and getting girls excited about the level you are currently in (example: You have a Junior troop, you will talk to Cadettes and Brownies; Daisys would talk to preschoolers about becoming Girl Scouts).
When do you bridge? It's up to you but it must happen before the end of the current membership year (September 30).
You can bridge at the end of the current school year and any summer activities can be completed at their new level. Or you can bridge at the beginning of the new school year, either way is fine. However, if your troop is finishing up a Journey or award, make sure they finish it before you bridge. Example: Your Junior troop is almost done with their Bronze Award but unveiling won't happen until Labor Day weekend. Don't bridge until after the unveiling, Cadettes can't earn the Bronze award.

What to do in an emergency? Although we all hope the worst never happens, you should know and follow our council’s procedures for handling emergency incidents. Remember, at the scene of an incident, safety is your first priority. Provide care for the injured person and/or obtain medical assistance, then immediately report the emergency to 800-626-6543.
