Take the Next Step in Your Skating Journey

The Aspire Program is designed for skaters who are ready to move beyond Learn to Skate and begin preparing for freestyle skating and private lessons. Aspire serves as the bridge between Learn to Skate and the next level of figure skating by providing additional ice time, specialized instruction, and a supportive learning environment.

Aspire replaces our Advanced Learn to Skate classes (Basic 6 through Free Skate 6) and offers a more comprehensive training experience.

Membership & Program Fees

Annual Aspire Membership Fee: $50 (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027)
Program Fee: $185 per six-week session

The annual Aspire membership provides access to the Aspire Program throughout the season. Skaters register separately for each six-week session.

Note: any skater that has held an Introductory or Full membership is not eligible for an Aspire membership but can register for Aspire classes.

Program Format

Aspire is offered in six-week sessions, with each session featuring a one-hour on-ice class that includes:

Small-group instruction with fewer skaters for more individualized coaching
Guided practice time
Rotating specialty classes that may include:
- Edge Class
- Power Skating
- Synchronized Skating
- Ice Dance
- Jumps
- Spins
- And more

All Aspire skaters participate together in the specialty classes, allowing them to explore different skating disciplines while building strong skating fundamentals.

Off-Ice Training

Each session may also include off-ice instruction such as:

Dynamic warm-ups
Jump technique
Goal setting
Strength and conditioning activities
Skating education and skill development
And more

What is the Great Bay Aspire Program?

Aspire bridges the gap between Learn to Skate and private lessons. Skaters receive additional ice time, specialized instruction, supervised practice, and opportunities to build skills and confidence.

Who is Aspire for?

Aspire is designed for skaters progressing beyond Learn to Skate who want to continue developing their skating skills in a supportive, structured environment. Whether a skater wants to skate recreationally, competitively, or simply build confidence and advance their skill level, Aspire provides opportunities to grow. The program also helps prepare skaters who are interested in transitioning to freestyle skating and private lessons.

What classes does Aspire replace?

Aspire replaces Basic 6 through Free Skate 6 Learn to Skate classes with a more comprehensive training experience.

How much does Aspire cost?

Season Membership: $50
Six-Week Session: $185

Who is eligible for an Aspire membership?

Skaters who have not previously held an introductory or full membership are eligible for an Aspire membership. Skaters who have held an introductory or full membership are not eligible for an Aspire membership but may still register for Aspire classes.

What specialty classes are offered?

Specialty classes rotate and may include Edge Class, Power Skating, Synchronized Skating, Ice Dance, Jumps, Spins, and more. All Aspire skaters participate together in these classes.

Does Aspire include off-ice training?

Yes! Off-ice activities may include warm-ups, jump training, fitness, skating fundamentals, and goal setting.

Will Aspire prepare my skater for private lessons?

Yes. Aspire is designed to provide a smooth transition from Learn to Skate into freestyle skating while building the skills needed for private lessons and future skating opportunities.

Can Aspire skaters take private lessons?

Yes! Aspire skaters may take private lessons in addition to their Aspire training. Private lessons can be added when and if a skater is ready to take that next step and receive more individualized instruction.

Is there education for parents?

Yes. Parent education opportunities throughout the season may cover topics such as skate care, purchasing and sharpening skates, Compete USA events, private lessons, finding a coach, and other skating resources.
