Band Camp Update from Mr. McFadden

Hello Grant Band Families!

I hope you are all enjoying wonderful summers full of family/friend time, relaxation, adventure and music! We're nearing the start of a great year and will kick it off with a few days of music before the start of school. Below you will find the final band camp itinerary and an important google form to fill out. It is a bit funky due to a change in the required PPS staff training days (all day Tues/Wed and AM on Thurs) that were placed in different spots than expected. I apologize for the non-traditional and more scattered schedule that this caused, but I know that it will not hinder our ability to form strong connections and work hard to create some great music in preparation for the fall. Band camp is intended for ALL students and will focus on reviving summer chops, performance/practice fundamentals, musical technique in concert, marching, and jazz settings, meeting people, group bonding, and creating a solid foundation for the rest of the year. This week sets the tone for the entire school year so let's have a great showing and get some great work done. The camp will focus on various aspects of our music program including leadership training (band council and principal players only), percussionists (drumline focused for now), jazz (Friday AM), and pep band/concert band music (All students). Please see the schedule for details as to when you are asked to arrive.
