BAND FESTIVALS & PERFORMANCES

CLACKAMAS JAZZ FESTIVAL (JE, JL)

This festival takes place this Saturday, March 17th. Given the proximity to Clackamas, the large gap of time between groups, and the excessive bus expense, it makes sense to carpool both ways. Please contact Mr. McFadden if your student needs a ride OR if you can take extra students. He is writing up carpool assignments.

We are also still in need of chaperones. Please contact Mr. McFadden if you can help with this.

ITINERARY:

PIL BAND/ORCHESTRA (WE/SO)

This festival takes place on Tuesday, March 20 at Roosevelt High School. We are also still in need of 2 chaperones for this event. Please contact Mr. McFadden if you can help. (Note: if you have not chaperoned before, it's very easy with the band/orchestra kids. They are self-sufficient and are usually very kind and appreciative. Chaperones are there in case of an emergency. And, chaperones get to watch some amazing performances)

INTO THE WOODS

The Grant Performing Arts Department is proud to present their musical Into the Woods. The show runs this week, March 14-16, at 6:30 in the Auditorium. This production includes the Theatre, Band, Choir, and CTE Audio Engineering and Woodworking programs. Do not miss these incredibly talented actors, singers, musicians, and technicians. Charming and poignant, with a dark twist, this popular musical blends many familiar fairy tales into one adventure into the woods as characters seek their happily ever-afters. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students. You can purchase tickets here.  If you can volunteer to help at the event, please sign up here

PTA SUPPORT

McMenamins near Mall 205 is hosting a fundraiser for Grant PTA tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 13) where 50% of the profits go to Grant PTA!

BAND BOOSTERS MEETING

Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 20 at 6:30 PM at the home of Kelly McCollum (3314 NE 47th Ave). Everyone is welcome to attend!

VOLUNTEER POSITIONS NEEDED

PRESIDENT-ELECT

We are still looking for a President-elect to work with Mary Beth and eventually take over as Band Boosters President. Are you interested? This is is a great way to help Grant Band (and Mr. McFadden). And...Band Boosters parents are a lot of fun to work with. If you're even considering it, please email MaryBeth Hernandez to learn more about the position to see if it's a good fit for you.

PTA LIAISON

Grant Band is looking for a parent to attend monthly Grant PTA meetings as a Grant Band representative and report back to us what you learn. Consider finding a team of 2-3 parents that you can rotate this role with. It's a pretty easy way to volunteer, but super helpful! Please contact MaryBeth Hernandez if you are interested.
