PEP BAND

Pep band starts this week for men's and women's home basketball games. Call times are 6:15, game time is 7:15 except unified basketball game on Feb 14.  

Pep band dates (call times, 6:15): Jan 4, Jan 9, Jan 19, Jan 30, Feb 6, and Feb 13.

Feb 14 (Unified basketball game) Call time: Right after school. Should last about an hour-1.5.

 

OMEA ALL STATE

Congratulations to the following students for being accepted to one of the OMEA All-State Ensembles!  Zoe Beyler, Rebecca Celsi, Emily Geoffroy, Finn Jones, Silas Kidd-Myers, Hannah McCollum, Jake Safirstein, Sam Redding, Lizzy Reeve, Bernadette Robinson, Michail Thompson, and Sadie Thorburn.

Not all can attend due to conflicts, but to be accepted is a great honor and worthy of recognition.

OMEA All-State weekend for Jazz Honor Band will be in Eugene from Thursday 1/11/18 - Saturday 1/13/18.

OMEA All-State weekend for Wind and Symphonic Honor Ensembles will be in Eugene from Friday 1/12/18- Sunday 1/14/18.

Grant Band Jazz Ensemble was invited to play in a performance that opens the OMEA All-State weekend. This performance will be at 10:00 am on Friday 1/12/18.

Here's the itinerary for Jazz Ensemble students on Friday 1/12/18:

-6 am: Load @ Grant (Marshall Campus) 

-8 am: Arrive @ Hult Center for the Performing Arts (1 Eugene Center, Eugene, OR 97401)

-11:30 am: Depart Hult Center for the Performing Arts (1 Eugene Center, Eugene, OR 97401)

-1:30 pm: Arrive @ Grant (Marshall campus)

 

UNIVERSITY OF OREGON JAZZ FESTIVAL 

Jazz Ensemble will attend the University of Oregon Jazz Festivalon Saturday January 20, 2018. More details to come...

 

CORRECTION 

Jazz Ensemble will *not* be attending the Clark College Jazz Festival. Instead, they will be attending the University of Oregon Jazz Festival. 

 

SWEET SOUND OF JAZZ 

We are in need of your help!  The Speakeasy: Sweet Sound of Jazz event on February 3, 2018 is the Band's biggest fundraiser for the year and we need your donations!

Auction Items

Do you have extra gift certificates or new items from the holidays that you could donate?  Do you have a family homes you could donate?  What about some extra bottles of wine?  We are taking all donations!  The Procurement Team will be responsible for putting items into packages. So please consider donating an item.  It would be great if we could get every family to donate an item.

Wine Donations

Are you a wine distributor or do you know of one? If so, please contact Kelly McCollum. We are in need of 3 more cases of wine to serve at this event.

Why are we raising money?

Funds raised from this event help support core program needs including travel, guest instructors, music, equipment, scholarship assistance, and an educational music trip for the ensembles every other year.  Donations are tax deductible and receipts provided upon request.

Please contact Laura Sisulak or Jennifer Farmer to coordinate picking up your donation or dropping it off at the school.  The deadline to donate items will be January 19th.

Planning Meeting

If you'd like to help plan, come to our next meeting on Sunday January 7 at 7:00 PM at Lloyd Corporate Plaza (919 NE 19th Ave, Main floor conference room. Call Kelly at 215-380-6767 if you need help finding the room). We welcome anyone to attend the planning meetings even if you can’t sign up for a committee.  If you'd like to help and cannot attend the meeting, email Kelly McCollum.
