Solarflower- Kathy Glover HOME POEMS
Solarflower, sun power,
winter darkness brings
violets, poppies, sunflower,
snow begets the spring.
Hollyberry, winter tree
branches bear the promise,
roots keep the winter sleep
'till spring be born around us.
In sleeping Earth, seeds are buried,
darkness gives them birth,
snow cover, Sunmother
sustain our hope for Earth.
Joy and sorrow, death and birth
we dance the circles of life,
spiraling, spinning, ebb and flow
through days of shadow and light.
Kathy almost never wrote poetry, although she wrote wonderful, poetic letters and cards. But she wrote this a few years ago for her solstice card and actually liked it!
