Getting Around Grand Junction And Fruita

Grand Junction Signed Bike Routes

The City of Grand Junction has established a network of signed bicycle routes around the city. These routes feature color coded signs, bike lane or shoulder markings, distance to destination signs, and, occasionally, posted maps.

The City of Fruita also has created a network of suggested routes around their wonderful city. Best of all, the routes in Fruita are named after dinosaurs!

This map can also help users of the Colorado Riverfront Trail to make the tricky connection across Fruita between the west end of the Monument View Section and the Little Salt Wash Trail. You can find a more 'zoomed in' map of that connection on the Little Salt Wash Trail map here.

City of Grand Junction Bicycle and Pedestrian Routes Map

The City of Grand Junction has produced a very nice map of the bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure and routes in and around Grand Junction.

The map is available for download from the City's website here.

The only issues with this map are that it's a pretty busy map so it's difficult to see small areas, and it's not exactly 'printer friendly'. It is, though, a great resource to use on your mobile device and the map can also be used with the Avenza PDF Maps app.

Suggested Bicycle Routes in Grand Junction

To help you get around Grand Junction, here's a simple map I made of the routes that I like and some that I strongly recommend against using. This map is intended to be 'printer friendly'.

You can download the map here.

Grand Junction Bicycle Infrastructure Large Format Map

In order to help you navigate your way around town using your mobile device, I created a very large format map of Grand Junction that shows all of bicycle infrastructure (bike lanes, bike paths, etc.).

You can download the map here.

(You may get an error message, just click "Download". The file size isn't huge, just 7.7MB, but the map's large format may be causing an issue.)

This map is definitely NOT printer friendly. It may not be quite as colorful as the City's map (above), but I do think it's easier to read and understand on a mobile device.
