Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the son of God. You see, God loved you SO MUCH that he sent his one and only son down to earth so that you could live!(John 3:16)

Jesus himself described who he is in the Bible. Jesus says he is, "The way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."(John 14:6). Jesus also said he is "the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go hungry, he who believes in me will never be thirsty." (John 3:35)

So...why did Jesus come? Well, God was sick to death of man and our sin! We were and still are, so full of sin! For from within, out of men's hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, greed, malice, deceit, lewdness, envy, slander, arrogance, and folly. All these evils come from inside and make a man 'unclean', or full of sin! (Mark 7:21-23). You don't have to murder someone to commit a sin, all you need to do is be proud, or arrogant, or to hate or gossip!! Every one of us has sinned. The Bible says "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)

Jesus says "For I have come down from Heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day." (John 6:38-40).

God sent Jesus to us so that we would realize that we are living in sin. We may not sin ALL the time, but we do ALL sin at some point in our lives! It states in the Bible that the wages of sin is DEATH! (Romans 6:23) I know I don't want to die in Sin, for those who die in sin, go to a place called Hell. But those who accept Jesus into their lives will live for eternity with him in Heaven!

Jesus was sent to earth for YOU. He was put to death for YOUR SIN. For Christ died for sins once and for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit. (1 Peter 3:18) Jesus died on the cross for your sins. He had no sin of his own, he did NOTHING to warrent death. But he loved you so much that he chose to die, so that you could live.

You see, before Jesus came, God required the people to sacrifice a lamb in order to be freed from their sins. But it wasn't enough. God required more from man than man could do on his own. So God sent Jesus down from heaven to help us. Jesus walked in our shoes. EVERYTHING that we have been through, Jesus went through. He went through temptations, trials and tribulations. He went through joys and sorrows. He witnessed death of family and loved ones, and he also healed the family and loved ones, even so far as to raise them up from the dead!

Jesus had to walk in our shoes, to live here on Earth so that he could become the LIVING SACRIFICE. You can't go out and sacrifice a lamb to God and expect to be forgiven. The only way you can get forgiveness today is to accept that Jesus is the son of God, that he died for YOUR sins, and to accept him into your lives, into your hearts.

But Jesus didn't stay dead! He was laid to rest in a tomb, like any ordinary man, but on the third day, God RAISED HIM from the dead. We don't worship and accept a dead God, no we believe in the LIVING God! The Bible says God is "not the God of the dead but of the living."(Matthew 22:32) Still, Jesus, son of God, was laid in the tomb. Everyone saw that he was dead. And three days passed while Jesus was in the tomb. On the third day, God raised him from the dead, freeing him from the agony of death, because it was impossible for death to keep its hold on him.(Acts 2:24). For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.(Romans 6:9) which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms. (Ephesians 1:20)

How awesome is that? God raised Jesus from the dead and now he sits with the father in Heaven. He is watching over you from above, just waiting until he can return for you! But first you must accept Jesus into your life.

Is there a God?
Who is Jesus?
Accepting Jesus
Now What?
