Master Gardeners are located in every state, and most regions within each state. The Master Gardener program is typically offered and sponsored through universities in both the United States and Canada. Purdue University Extension Service sponsors Master Gardeners in Indiana. The Gibson County Master Gardeners are proud to be part of that organization.
The Master Gardener Program provides intense home horticulture training to individuals who volunteer in their communities, teaching people more about growing plants and providing plant-related information and technical assistance about gardening and home horticulture.
Gibson County MGs meet on the third Monday of each month (March through November) at the GCCOA senior citizen building, 212 S. Richland Creek Dr., Princeton, IN. This building is located behind Rural King. We meet for a business meeting at 6 PM. At 7 PM we invite the public to hear our speaker who presents at 7 PM. We do not have a speaker in August which is our annual picnic.
In odd-numbered years we sponsor a garden seminar on the third Saturday in October. The seminar takes the place of our October meeting on those years.
The Gibson County Master Gardeners donate their time and talents to members of the community and provide individuals with gardening assistance. They sponsor speakers, seminars and offer their support to the residents and organizations.
The Purdue Master Gardener program is a program provided under the services of the Gibson County Extension which is located at 203 S. Prince St., Princeton, IN . The Gibson County Extension also sponsors a program for homemakers and the 4-H program for children between 9 through 18 years old.
