Greenville, South Carolina - Gamma Gamma Lambda Chapter placed third for the Alumni Chapter raising the most funds for the March of Dimes' March for Babies Competition in 2014. GGL raised more than $2,300 but fell short of the Chapters in Columbia and Denmark for the top two spots. Despite this, GGL is remains a consistent fundraising chapter by raising more than $38,000 since 1998 and placing in the top three of District Competition every year since 2000.
The South Carolina District, as a whole, has raised more than $22,000 this year (an increase of more than $6,000 from last year) and has actually beat the Zetas in the State for fundraising this year.
SCAlpha and SC-Zeta Phi Beta have had a friendly Competition for fundraising for March for Babies since 2000 and hold joint kickoff Program and Luncheon in January Both National organizations share in a partnership with the March for Dimes with their National Programs, Project Alpha (AΦΑ) and Stork's Nest (ZΦΒ) programs. March of Dimes supports both organizations at the National, Regional, and District Level.
The Chapter awards were presented District Awards Breakfast on Sunday October 12th, that was a part of the District Conference held in Greenville this weekend. GGL was the lead host chapter for the District. The Conference was held from October 10th -October 12th with more than 200 brothers and their families attend the Conference events and sessions.
