Greenville, South Carolina - Like everyone, GGL is adjusting to the "new normal" in light of the COVID-19 Crisis. Last month (April 2020), GGL conducted its first virtual Chapter Meeting on April 18th at 9 AM using the popular Zoom web conference product. About 20 brothers attended the online meeting and conducted Chapter Business, without any major issues. As a part of the Chapter meeting, we had General Presidential Candidate, Roderick Smothers, join us and speak briefly to the chapter. Our next Chapter meeting will be on May 16th at 9 AM.
As a part of the virtual meeting, the chapter employed some common practices and rules for participating in a virtual meeting. Those are as follows:
Rules for our Virtual Meetings (GGL)
Identify yourself (First Name, Last Name, Chapter Name - we have guests)
Raise your hand, if you want to speak (Chair will recognize you)
Votes should be in the chat. (if votes are needed)
Seconds to motions are done by type “second” in the chat room.
Objections are by voice or chat - or type or say “Objection”
The chair gives the floor, give it back when done.
Files (handouts) may be received by Council website or by Email
Mute your microphone when you're not talking
