Brothers,
I am looking to have a Local District Conference Meeting on April 7th at 6:30 PM. Location to be determined. Please let me know if you can attend. I am looking to hold our Initial Meeting in Greenville and possibly supplement it with a conference call for other locations depending on participation.
Please support us as we host the 50th Anniversary District Conference in the Upstate. I have included the initial message to area chapters for your reference.

Brothers,
John Middleton and I are working as co-chairs of the Local Host Committee for the SCALPHA District Conference on Oct 7-9, 2010 at the Greenville Embassy Suites. We are looking at dates for the Local committee to meet and discuss the requirements and deadlines we have to host the conference. The tentative theme for the district conference is “Honoring the past, while arming for the Future”.
I am looking forward to showing the District what the Upstate chapters can do with the conference. However, this is a large event and we will need your support and assistance with this effort. If we can share the load of planning, I know we will host a wonderful event and we can minimize the stress points for us all.
Currently, we are looking at holding two local committee meetings in the next few days: one during the membership weekend on April 2-3 (with the Chapter Presidents) and other meeting during the second week of April (on either 7th or 8th). I am asking that your chapter leadership began to consider the following in preparation for those meetings.
Review the attached reference material on the agenda, requirements and deadlines for the conference. These were presented to us at the District Planning Conference Call tonight.
Talk to your chapters about what resources you have available for the hosting requirements. That support may include manpower, funding and other resources.
Solicit possible volunteers from your chapter for our effort.
Please reply back when you received this message and give me any preferences with time and dates with the Local Host Committee meetings in April.
Currently, the next District Conference Planning call will be held on April 21st at 9:00 PM. The District Leadership will be sending out information about the call and we will past that information along to you as well.
Thanks for your support and assistance with the host committee and I look forward to discussing the conference planning in the next few days.
