Romina Dimarco

Licenciada en Ciencias Biológicas (Universidad Nacional del Comahue) y PhD (Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Tennessee, USA)

Biologist (Comahue National University) and PhD (Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, University of Tennessee, USA)

Es investigadora adjunta del CONICET y del Department of Biology and Biochemistry, University of Houston.

She is researcher at CONICET and at the Department of Biology and Biochemistry, University of Houston. Her research interests include the study of the ecology of plant - insect interactions and invasion biology by studying chemical ecology, behavior and insect ecology. Her current research focuses on exploring how herbivory of a native insect (the leaf-cutter ant, Acromyrmex lobicornis), affects the growth and expansion of exotic Pinaceae in Patagonia. She is interested in looking at both, the role of leaf-cutter ants as forest pest of plantations, and also as their possible role as biological control of Pinacea invasion.
