Grisel Pastorini

Es Becaria doctoral de CONICET. Su línea de trabajo se centra en el estudio de la avispa Megastigmus spermotrophus, que parasita las semillas del pino Oregón. Esta plaga, presente en Norteamérica y Europa, fue detectada recientemente por primera vez en Sudamérica, en la Patagonia argentina. La investigación se orienta a comprender la fenología del insecto y su interacción con el hospedador, con el objetivo de desarrollar prácticas de manejo que permitan controlar los daños en las semillas.

She is a PhD fellow at National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET). Her research focuses on the study of the wasp Megastigmus spermotrophus, which parasitizes Douglas-fir seeds. This pest, established in North America and Europe, was recently detected for the first time in South America, in Argentine Patagonia. Her research aims to understand the insect’s phenology and its interaction with the host in order to develop management practices to control seed damage.
