The doll belonging to my mother, Evelyn Harriet Newman Fero, around 1920.

Features: It has painted facial features, blue eyes that appear to be 'sleep eyes' (designed to close when laid down), and short, brown, somewhat mussed hair.

• Origin/Maker: Many dolls from this period, especially those with cloth bodies and composition limbs, were sold unmarked, making the specific manufacturer hard to determine without identifying marks. Makers like Ideal, Effanbee, and various German companies produced similar styles.
