Introduction:

In Module Three, explores the basic reading elements.  In this module you will learn about print awareness, phonological and phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension.

Explore the Science of Reading Instruction

1. Review the LETRS Scope and Sequence for guidance on how phoneme-grapheme correspondence could be introduced and taught.

2. Then review the LETRS Phonics Lesson Plan Template.  After reviewing the template watch the 5 LETRS teaching videos below and watch the instructional routines and techniques in action based on the lesson plan. 

3. LETRS Phonics Lesson in the Classroom:

• Please watch the LETRS Phonics Lesson.  Reflect on how all five pillars of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and reading comprehension are included in the lesson.
