The information society has brought developments in the way information is created, consolidated, and accessed. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has produced larger volumes of information, new ways of packaging information, and new tools for managing information to meet the changing demands of the user community. In view of the complex information needs of the society, the library and information centre have to play a greater role in building, developing, and disseminating information

The GECH Library acts as a central knowledge centre for students and faculty of the college and the collection of this knowledge center comprise of documents in Engineering subjects (Civil, E&C, Mechanical and CS & E). Efforts are ongoing to provide computerized library services by skilled Information professionals and systematic organization of documents are the major functions of the library. Preparations are on-going to make the library catalogue searchable and can be browsed online.

The library collection today stands at 2622 books. Karnataka Examination Authority announced to provide necessary initial books grant to expand library’s collection. This generous grant will be going to help the library enormously to develop itself and bolster the educational and research needs of the college. Social Welfare Department, Govt. of Karnataka also assisting in building SC/ST Book Bank in the library. From recent past, the collection has also been enriching by donations of valuable books from students & faculty.

Monday –Friday : 10 am – 5.30 pm

Saturday : 10 am – 1.30 pm

General Instruction

  • Please handle documents with great care as they are costly and valuable.
  • Loss of book must be reported immediately.
  • For the rules for replacement of lost book - kindly contact the Librarian.
  • The borrowing facility can be withdrawn or restricted in case of misbehavior or misuse of the library.
  • No book in damaged condition will be accepted from the reader.
  • Mutilated or spoiled books will have to be replaced by the borrower.
  • Late fees, if any, will be charged till the loss of book is reported.
  • If the original library book is returned after reporting it lost, the fine will be calculated till the date of its return.
