Mechanical Engineering

Department of Mechanical Engineering started along with the establishment of the college. It offers an undergraduate course B.E with an annual intake of 60. It has a well qualified and experienced faculty. The B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering is a comprehensive degree program. The goal of the mechanical engineering curriculum is to create a flexible undergraduate educational experience in design, mathematics, modeling, computing, management, engineering science, humanities, social sciences and fine arts. Principal study topics include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics & heat transfer, solid mechanics, materials engineering, manufacturing, energy systems, dynamics & control Computer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and others.

The department is establishing contacts to make MOUs with many organizations to conduct research and consultancy activities.

Dr. Rangaswamy T, B.E., M,Sc.Engg., Ph.D.,

Dr.T.Rangaswamy,B.E. from Malnad College of Engineering (MCE), Hassan in 1990, M.Sc. (Engg.) from University of Mysore in 1997 and Ph.D. from PSGTECH, Coimbatore in 2005. Presently, working as Professor & Head, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Earlier he served at MCE, Hassan from 1990-2010. His areas of interest are Design Optimization, Composite materials, FEA and CAD/CAM. He has 13 international and 11 national publications to his credit.

Chennabasava Gouda did his B.E. from BEC,Bagalkot and M.Tech from NIT,Allahabad. Presently, working as Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering.His areas of interests are Mechanics of Materials, Kinematics of Materials, Dynamics of Materials and Machine Design.

Mr. Mahesh T.S B.E., M.E.,

Mahesh T S B.E. from SIT Tumkur in 1992, ME from UVCE Bangalore University in 2005 and Pursuing Ph.D. at VTU Belgaum. Presently, working as Asst Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Earlier he served at KIT, Tiptur from 1997-2010. His areas of interest are Design Optimization, Mechanical Vibrations, FEA and Smart Materials. He has 01 national publication to his credit.

Mr. Dodda Hanumesh B.E., M.Tech.,

Dodda Hanamesha, did his B.E. from UBDTCE, Davanagere ; Kuvempu University in 2002 and M.Tech in “Thermal Engineering Systems Technology”, from UBDTCE, Davanagere, Kuvempu University in 2007.

He has got 1^st Rank in his M.Tech study. Presently, he is working as Assistant Professor in “Department of Mechanical Engineering”. He has 6 years of teaching experience & 1.5years of Industrial experience. His areas of interest include “Basic and Applied Thermodynamics”, “Fluid Mechanics”, “Turbomachines”, “Refrigeration & Air conditioning”, “Alternative fuels for I.C. engines”, “Utilisation of renewable energy sources such as Solar energy, Wind energy-etc.”.
