This map show places with names beginning "Upper" and "Lower".
The diagram below shows the differences between the eastings and between the northings of the places with
names beginning "Upper" and "Lower". The bins of the histograms are 1 km wide. Ideally, these distributions
would be identical and symmetrical about zero. But if many pairs of places were in a region which sloped
predominantly in one direction, the distributions could be slightly biassed. The rms separation of the pairs of
places is about 1.23 km, the accuracy being limited by the fact that all positions in the OS Open Data are
centred on 1km squares on the OS map. The circles in the diagram have had a random amount with a range
of +- 0.5 km added to their X and Y coordinates to break the degeneracy in position.
