Who Am I?
I was born and (mostly) raised in Ontario. I earned my H.BSc in Biology at McMaster University in 2006, and worked for about a year and a half in various environmental research projects. I went back to school and completed my Chef Training from Niagara College in 2009, then received my Red Seal in 2011. Around that time I went to teachers college at the University of Toronto and earned my B.Ed in 2011. I began my teaching career in Kangiqsualujjuaq Quebec for one year followed by 8 years teaching Mathematics and Foods in Alberta. I am now back in Ontario and want to share what I have built with all of you!
Why the Resource Page?
All teachers do not plan and teach in seclusion. Over the years I have taken little bits from everywhere, textbooks, websites, other people's pages...etc. The point here is that what I've made for myself is and isn't a 100% original work (if such a thing even exists). Over my eight years of teaching in Alberta, I have taught 14 different courses (not including jr.foods and all of the foods modules). Every time I was given new courses to teach I had to scramble to come up with lessons, assignments, reviews, and tests. It was a lot of work, but thanks to some selfless and generous people sharing, it made the whole process a lot easier. I have finally designed many of my course to a format that I like. I am now sharing in the hopes of sparing some of you the stress of building a complete program in a very short period of time.
It's going to take a while to get this all done. It will all go up gradually, but feel free to use what's here until I'm done! Have any suggestions, or looking for something specific? Just fire me an e-mail at gauvinma@gmail.com
