Mission Statement
During my retirement sojourn to New York in 2004 I saw my first Art-O-Mat art-dispensing machine at the Whitney Museum of American Art. I was intrigued by artist Clark Whittington’s vintage vending machine selling original art at a reasonable price. I read, also, that for many people their personal art gallery was the home refrigerator where they displayed their children’s artwork. Thus, came my idea for the “Ice Box Gallery”, a vintage refrigerator that would display and sell, at a reasonable price, original artwork in the form of refrigerator magnets. My mission for “Garon’s Own Ice Box Gallery” is to provide a venue that non-profit and art organizations can use to display and sell the artwork. Artists create and donate art that is then sold by the non-profit and art organizations.
