"Do you love Me?" Jesus asked. Peter answer, "Yes, Lord!" Jesus said, "Tend my sheep." (John 21:16)
Tending the Lord's sheep is the commission of the RE Teachers. Many of our students come to Church seeking for true love. They can experience the love of God through the Holy Spirit and through the care they receive from their RE Teachers. However, the RE teachers and students only see each other once every few weeks in class. Many of our students may feel neglected and unloved. Just ask ourselves how much do we know about our students? What is their favorite color? What makes them laugh? What do they struggle with? Therefore, it is imperative that we make the effort to intently show love to our students consistently. Hence, this Buddy System is born, so it can help us to tend the sheep of Jesus Christ.
LUNCH CHAT
Every 1st week of the month, the buddies will eat lunch together and chat about a certain theme and share a reflection of the Memory Challenge. The chat themes are listed below. The topics for each theme are attached at the bottom of the page.
Before lunch, go check in at the RE table to pick up your raffle paper. During your chat, write your buddy's answers in your RE notebook if you would like to remember the answers. Then pick the most interesting answer and write it question and answer on the raffle paper with your name and your buddy's name on it. Turn it in to the RE raffle box.
Once a month during the RE prayer, we'll do a few rounds of raffle. Those who are picked will be awarded prizes.
