On July 11, 2010 (Sun), Edogawa Volunteer Festival was held at Tower Hall Funabori, located at the north exit of Funabori station, Toei Shinjuku-line.
It's a gathering of volunteer groups in Edogawa ward.
The event was held by the ward government and aimed at enlightment and popularization of volunteer activities. There were each group's displays, small stage and a flea market. Visitors had experience and communication with volunteers through this event. F&S no Kai took part in the event and displayed our activities to show what we have done in a year. we also supported a person from Edogawa Indian Association for helping visitors get dressed Indian sari.
Although doing volunteer work had not been at large by recently in this country, it seems getting more popular these days. So many people― young and old, men and women were coming and enjoyed this event. It would be wonderful if more and more people would be interested in volunteer activities and contributing to society. Also in the business world in Japan, some social entrepreneurs have been playing an active part in recent years.
