"F&S no Kai" was set up for making friendship of Japanese and Indian people living in Edogawa, Tokyo. We aim to maintain a friendship through cultural exchange, supporting and various activities. "F" stands for "Friendship", "S" is for "Supporting".

Originally, F&S was set up by the students of Edogawa Sougou Jinsei Collage in 2008 as a volunteer activity. The starting members were mature and have various experience and knowledge with their life. Now the group has various members from young to mature. Some of the members used to reside abroad for business, others have an exprience of teaching Japanese language to foreign people. We are willingly using our each ability and experience for the activity of F&S. You can communicate with our members frankly.

As you may know, nowadays there are many Indian people living in Kasai area. It is said one out of ten Indians living in Japan is Edogawa's residents.

The area of Nishikasai and Seishin-cho is even called "Little India". Even so in this Little India, It was hardly said that local people and Indians were having communication closely. Many of local people have felt sorry not having communication with our mysterious neighbors from south Asia.

Most Japanese may consider India to be attractive country which has opposite side: the country of histrical, original culture and custom, the country of forefront technology and rapidly growing economy. Yes, we Japanese also are interested in you and want to know about you and your country. Therefore we are trying to have an opportunity to communicate and know each other continuously. Now we give regularly Japanese language lessons and culture class at Seishincho Community Kaikan. We also hold various events and activities such as Xmas party, Cooking day and so on. Please come and join us and enjoy those activities!

「Ｆ＆Ｓの会」は、東京・江戸川区葛西地域にて、日本とインドの文化交流や支援を通じ、友好関係を築く目的で設立されました。「F」は「Friendship(友情)」「S」は「Supporting(支援)」を意味しています。

私たちは江戸川総合人生大学 国際コミュニティ学科の生徒によるボランティア活動として2008年にスタートました。

現在の中心メンバーは若い世代に入れ替わりました。海外駐在や日本語講師の経験があるメンバーが集まり、その知識と経験を生かして活動を行っています。清新町コミュニティ会館での日本語教室をベースに、季節ごとの様々なイベント開催などの活動を行っています。

日本在住のインド人10人に１人は江戸川区民、その７割が葛西地区に集中していると言われています。彼らの多くは都心のＩＴ関連企業に勤めるシステムエンジニアとそのご家族。西葛西・清新町地域は ”リトルインディア” とも呼ばれるようになりました。

そんな地域にあって、これまで地元住民とインド人との交流は活発であるとは言えませんでした。しかし、本当は日本語や日本の文化についてもっと知りたい・地元の人と交流したいと考えているインドの方々もたくさんいるのではないか。

また、独自の文化や社会制度など従来のイメージとともに、近年は経済・技術の発展著しい新興国としての側面を併せ持つインド――

そんな世界の注目を集める国からやって来た方々と毎日すれ違いながらも、何も交流がないことに寂しさを感じていた地元住民。

お互いを知り、交友を楽しむ機会を作るための活動を行っています。

一方向的に主催側がサービスを提供するようなボランティア活動ではなく、あくまで双方の友好を互いに育む関係を目指しています。
