August 22, 2010: Tea ceremony party

F&S no kai hosted the tea ceremony party on Aug 22(Sun), 2010. It was held at Genshin-an, Gyosen-koen park. Genshin-an is a Japanese style house and surrounded with beautiful Japanese landscape garden, called Heisei Teien. More than 40 Indians living in Kasai area joined the party.

In this event, they were offered a hands-on experience not only of drinking tea, but also of making green powdered tea: matcha. Although the manners of the tea ceremony seems not easy, looks like they could feel the atmosphere of the ceremony and the tastes of matcha & Japanese sweets. After the tea ceremony, some cultural programs were offered.

We hope they enjoyed the experience of Japanese traditional culture. Performances by Indian kids and a lady also fascinated Japanese members of F&S. The party was very good cultural exchange for us.
