This report, jointly prepared by UN Tourism and WTA, explores tourism’s potential to drive shared prosperity by promoting economic development, poverty alleviation and social inclusion, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 10 (reducing inequalities). 

It examines challenges such as climate change, access to financing or infrastructure development, emphasizing the need for robust tourism policies at national level, adequate regulatory frameworks, partnerships and investment strategies. 

Case studies from China, Albania, Indonesia, Jordan, Peru, Rwanda and Vanuatu demonstrate how national policies can leverage tourism for shared prosperity. 

The report provides a set of actionable recommendations for policymakers to enhance tourism’s contribution to equitable economic growth and social well-being.
