A memorial board was installed near the graves of 282 civilians who lost their lives as a result of the air raids on Exeter in 1942. The memorial was unveiled on 8th May 2012, the 70th anniversary of the mass funeral of those victims. The ceremony was attended by sponsors of the memorial, WWII veterans, relatives of the deceased and FoHC members. The unveiling was performed by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Stella Brock.
After 10 years the woodwork had decayed so a replacement metal version was installed for the 80th anniversary of the blitz.
