CONSECUTIVE STATE TITLES
Valleys' 6 in a row is the most states won, boys or girls, consecutively, in any class, East or West.
Lawrence, Gorham and Westbrook won four in a row to lead the girls.
Regionally, Dirigos' girls team and its' amazing 11 Western Maine titles in a row, lead the way, boys or girls.
For the boys, Valley not only won 6 states in a row, but 8 Western Maine crowns in a row.
MOST THREE POINTERS IN A GAME
I had to hunt high and low for this, but until proven otherwise, this MAY be the state record.
Jan 23, 1999.
EDWARD LITTLE 95, LEWISTON 51: Jon Wallingford had 12, 3-pointers and finished with 41 points - 29 in the second half - to lead the Eddies (6-4) past the Blue Devils at Lewiston.Ben Lawler added 14 points and Greg Cooper 13 for the Eddies, who hit 19 3-pointers. (this may be a record too)
UPDATE: GEORGE STEVENS 97 LEE ACADEMY 69: Taylor Schildroth of George Stevens had 12, 3-pointers vs. Lee Academy Jan. 6, 2017
UPDATE: Washburn hit 20 three-pointers in a semi-final tourney game vs. Jonesport-Beals, Feb. 24, 2011, during a 84-72 loss to the Royals. This is by far (any class) a tournament record and just may be the new State record for any game until proven otherwise.
Ryan Maguire of Mount Ararat hit 8, 3-pointers in one half of a basketball game against Gardiner in a 1996 home game. (this may be a record for one half of a game)

BANGOR AUDITORIUM (from Bangor Daily)
Jim Trafton of East Corinth took the first shot in the first-ever high school tournament game at the new Bangor Auditorium. He also was the first to score. Trafton's original shot "backfired, but he came back to dunk the first deuce." Trafton also committed the first foul in the building's tournament history, allowing Marshall Taylor of MDI to make the first foul shot. Mt. Desert won the first game over Central tho, 72-44.
On Feb. 23, 1956, the Class S (small school) teams of East Corinth (13-6) and Mount Desert Island (13-5) took to the floor to begin the tournament for post-season bragging rights at the so- called "Mecca" of eastern Maine basketball.
Other teams in the "S" tournament of 1956 were Island Falls, Columbia Falls, Beals, Freedom, Easton and Albion. Beals, with only 18 kids,12 boys & 6 girls in the entire student body, won the tournament and then defeated Oxford High School for its third state championship.
Teams competing in the 1956 "M" (medium school) tournament: Pemetic of Southwest Harbor, Hallowell, Greenville, Lubec, Mattanawcook Academy of Lincoln, Winthrop, Corinna and Aroostook Central Institute of Mars Hill. Mattanawcook Academy won the tournament, but lost to Cape Elizabeth in the state final at Waterville.
Attendance at the opening day of those eastern Maine M-S tournaments was 3,362. Total attendance for the three days was 8,271.
The Bangor Auditorium shut its doors for good to high school basketball after the Boys Class C State game in 2013.
Other Notes and Facts:
In 1975, the Girls team from East Grand garnished more Heal Points in the season (153.23) then the Number One Seed in Class A, Hampden (150.13). This was never done before and has never been done since.
The Oak Hill boys team had a 53 game losing streak that ended with a 80-73 over Rockland on Dec. 22, 2000. The streak started in late 1996 lasting almost exactly 4 years.
