Awards

Professor Fischer has won a number of academic awards, including the Harold Lasswell prize for scholarly contributions to the field of public policy studies, and the Aaron Wildavsky American Political Science Award for Policy Studies. He has also won several book awards, including a Policy Studies Organization book award for Confronting Values Policy Analysis co-edited with John Forester and an Interpretive Methods Charles Taylor book award for The Argumentative Turn Revisited, co-edited with Herbert Gottweis. He also received several teaching awards at Rutgers University

Academic Specialities

Global and comparative environmental policy and politics, American and German politics, global political affairs (including US foreign policy),economic policymaking, science, technology and public policy, food governance and public policy analysis.
