Friendly, informal, fun. Come and get excited by the immediacy and creative potential. All you need is a machine, enthusiasm and a freemotion/embroidery or darning foot and threads.

INTRO have a go before committing to a whole day. 4 people maximum. Contact to arrange

If all you know involves straight seams and flat fabric.... these are days of being naughty -torn edges, ripping, layering, manipulating, changing colours, making surfaces, being lumpy. Discuss ideas, ask for artistic advice, technical input, or follow me through creating a piece of work.

Scrap box available, basic materials provided.

Starting Point Stitchy Days - the Edge of The Woods

10 - 3 £65 including a copy of the design to work with.

I can set up private classes to suit. Held here at £65 per person upto £200 in total for 4.

You set the content and provide the people. We negotiate over date and timings!

Outside Group Bookings – if you would like me to come to your venue to host a practical class (group size 1- 15) Short class £80, Full day class £160 plus travel expenses.

Formal groups at a hall or just a few friends around the kitchen table - happy to do either!

Talks - £85 plus travel. Can include demonstrations on request.

2 hours (The very beginning!)

Come and stitch, discover or develop freemotion/ freehand machining.

Play and explore a whole new way of enjoying sewing. Not a ruler or straight edge in sight!

Having troubles? Come along and see if we can pinpoint the problems.

Starting Point

10 -3pm £65

You start with this printed design - and where you end up is entirely your choice.

Paint, hand and machine stitch, applique, add, cut ...

I am on hand with materials, ideas and technical advice.

Play Time Stitchy Day

10 -4pm

A Play Day full of Applique, Layers, Building up and Cutting back, Textures and surfaces.

Explore a combination of techniques to create surfaces, shapes and textures to stitch on .

Find ways and methods of creating extra layers of texture and colour to bring your surfaces to life. A valuable addition to the creative sewing basket.

Stitch and.... Stitchy Day

10-4pm

A play day combining wet media, such as acrylic paint or inks, with stitch.

Layering media, experimenting with techniques, creating with colour, and working with non-fabric surfaces. Play with collage, combine and fuse paper with fabric, stitching and painting over both.

SeaShore

Fabricy Textures and Layers

10 -4pm

Come and stitch, discover or develop experimental freemotion/ freehand machining and fabric manipulation.

Mix techniques and approaches and build a response to the seashore.

Drawing with your sewing Machine

10- 1pm

Develop and refine your skills by exploring the use and manipulation of line. Create emphasis, surface, outlines and find ways to draw with your machine.

Tree Stitchy Day 30 April, 30th May 2025

10- 3.30pm

Get adventurous in a very 'safe' way.

Develop and refine your skills by following step by step (but flexible!) instructions to create your own individual study Combine techniques and approach the work in a relaxed, creatively open way.

One fee, come for the whole day or part of.

Bring your own projects to do or follow me as I create mine! Ask for advice, look for inspiration, or just enjoy working in my space.
