Introductory Stitchy Day

Acomb York. YO26

An outline of what you will be doing and a guide to what to bring

An intensive half day experimenting and exploring freehand machine stitching. Learn how to get started with this exciting way of working. We shall begin right at the beginning with how to set up your machine and tackling common problems. Share the techniques I use, play with line, textures and surfaces, and start to discover how to use your machine as a fabulous creative tool.

Please bring-

your own sewing machine, if unsure about your machine please bring the manual,

darning/freemotion foot ( I do have some generic low shank ones that may be borrowed),

threads, (just your usual brands, any colour – we will be experimenting so those annoying left over odds and ends will do fine)

embroidery hoop if you have one.

Fabric pen or pencil.

I have cotton fabrics to experiment on and a mixture of fabric scraps to play with.

If you have ideas/ projects please do bring them along too.

The tea or coffee will be on offer, if you take decaffeinated or anything special, please remember to bring a supply

Look forward to seeing you soon,
