I am in York Open Studios for 2025 and also North Yorkshire Open Studios too. I will be showing at the Great Yorkshire Show and exhibiting at the Staithes Festival and with the YTA at York Cemetery Chapel again in 2025.
Make sure you are on my mailing list for more details as they arise!
I only have a fraction of my work here, to see more please contact for a visit to the workshop. When sending by post I prefer to send unframed work, ready to just pop into a frame of your choice. The Sunny Afternoons are presented on artists stretchers and in tray frames.

Fragments Of A Landscape
Askham
Based on the ideas of how we remember familiar places. We know them too well to be summed up in a single photo. These are layers of glimpses, experiences and time spent on location. They combine old work, oil sketches, fabric samples, paint, and of course stitch, stitch and more stitch!
Into The Blue
The Garden Series
A whole new approach and theme based on the happy chaos that is my summer flower garden . Mostly self seeded annuals and short lived perenials there are layers of shapes, forms and colour. Initially worked on a deep velvet to give depth and richness with lines and splashes of vibrant colour, they now also play with other surfaces and paint .
Silver Birch - Wheldrake Woods. The sharp clarity of the young foliage clashes with the dark bank of trees behind. The tree is densely worked to contrast with the flatter layers of fabric that create the background. The foreground of rough grass and track has been ripped and torn as well as stitched.
I only have 2 digital prints on cotton fabric left - great for bags etc, or do your own stitch work over it! 14"w x 13"h £15
In the Making - I use a mix of textile techniques- freehand machining, applique, couching, staining, and hand work. Base fabrics are often heavy cotton calico for larger pieces or linen for smaller ones. Scraps and pieces of all sorts of fabrics from sheers to velvet are used to give weight, colour and texture. Some are worked over oil paintings, others are built up in layers and layers.
