If you are passionate about the PC Party's objectives and want to be part of the elected team, consider running to be the candidate for the party.
You should contact the Association President or Party Headquarters if you are interested in running for the nomination.
Before you can run to become an MLA, you have to be "nominated" by the local Association in your constituency.
The nomination is won by the person who wins the election at the nomination meeting. Candidates sell memberships to residents of the constituency and then get them to come out to a nomination meeting where the candidate is selected.
The candidate must win 50% plus 1 or better in order to win the nomination. Depending on whether the vote is multiple ballot process or a preferential ballot, the voting can take some time to be completed before a winner announced.
Once you are nominated the hard work of the election campaign begins!
Elections Manitoba provides the technical requirements for becoming a candidate. You can see those here.
