Constituency
The Provincial political boundaries of Fort Richmond extend from Chevrier Blvd in the North to the Perimeter Highway in the South, and the CNR Letellier Line as the western boundary to the Red River on the east.
The Constituency of Fort Richmond (in red, to the left) was created from an electoral redistribution in 2008, carved out of parts of Fort Garry and St. Norbert, and since then has been represented by the New Democratic Party.
There are approximately 20,750 residents who live in Fort Richmond.
Fort Richmond is home to Manitoba's largest post-secondary university, the University of Manitoba. Approximately 27,000 students are enrolled in the University (Wikipedia) making Fort Richmond the third largest population centre in the province when the University is in session!
More recently Fort Richmond has become home to the new stadium for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The stadium is located on the campus of the University of Manitoba, and was completed in 2013.

2016 General Election
In the 2016 election there were 9,809 registered voters and 6,582 of them actually voted in the election making for a turnout of 67.10%.

2011 General Election
The first election where Fort Richmond existed as a political constituency was the 2011 general election. The results of that election saw the NDP win the election.
In the 2011 election there were 12,040 registered voters and 7,574 of them actually voted in the election making for a turnout of 62.91%.
