Forest Junior Optimist International Club (JOI)
*Stay tuned for more information regarding JOI for the 2025-2026 school year*
Jr. Optimist Club is for Forest students interested in making a positive difference and getting involved in the community. JOI helps our students develop leadership skills, proactive problem solving, and most importantly, encourages them to get involved in helping others in the community. In past years, Forest’s Jr. Optimists successfully raised money for charities, collected items to donate, and helped out in the community.
Read the following “Optimist Creed”. If any part of the message touches you, then you should consider having your child join JOI!
The Optimist Creed
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.
To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.
To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
Do not worry if you cannot make all the meetings – just be the voice and action to make a difference!
If your child has a passion for helping others and is interested in joining Forest’s Jr. Optimist Club, we will be meeting once a month, directly after school.
