April 16, 2024

Our Annual Spring  Fundraiser was a success this year.  We returned to the Triple Crown Country Club for our worthwhile event. We promoted "Wood Hudson Cancer Research Laboratory" as our benefactor of our Cancer Fundraiser.   Dr. Julia Carter with "Wood Hudson",which is a member of the Association of Independent Research Institutions  in Newport , KY, was our guest speaker.  We had live and silent auction items, Heads and Tails, and more.

We had a wonderful Christmas luncheon at the Triple Crown Country Club on December 19, 2023.  We had a friendly meeting, enjoyed lunch, and even sang Christmas Carols in a "Holiday Sing Along".

Springtime brings in our Annual Fundraiser. This year we returned to the Triple Crown Country Club for our worthwhile event. We promoted "I Have Wings"  as our benefactor of our Cancer Fundraiser.  Janet Chambers with "I Have Wings" which is a local organization to support cancer survivors, was our guest speaker.  We had live and silent auction items, Heads and Tails, and more.  


December 20, 2022

It's the Holiday Season and we met at the Triple Crown Country Club. We socialized during our noon-time lunch and had lots of good food.  Entertainment involved everyone singing Seasonal favorites.  Guest Sue Kozlowski led us in our "Holiday Sing Along".  As always, our meeting was quiet a good success.

We had our Annual Fundraiser held at the Triple Crown Country Club this year, on April 19th.  Cancer Survivor Steve Del Gardo, owner of the Cannoli Bar Bakery Shop in Covington, shared a fascinating saga about his bout with breast cancer. Our benefit was primarily for the Make-A-Wish Foundation who create life changing wishes for children with critical illness including cancer.

Our Annual Christmas Luncheon was held at the Triple Crown Country Club.  Around twenty-five members and guests attended our festive event.  The Hills of Kentucky Dulcimers provided a festive arrangement of Christmas music plus other hints.

A wonderful day for the Florence Woman’s Club at our annual cancer benefit luncheon! This year we are supporting The Dragonfly Foundation. We appreciate all of our guests, donors, attendees, sponsors, and members for making this an amazing afternoon!

April 16th, 2019 

"Finally, Spring Is Here" was our theme for our Fundraiser primarily benefiting The American Cancer Society.  We had over 90 attendees for the Luncheon at the Triple Crown Country Club, Richwood, Ky. We had silent auction items, an interactive live auction, and a "bling" table of jewelry for sale.  Speaking was Cathy Youtsey-Halloran, or as she said, know and "Chick". She shared stories about her "Chicks and Chucks" Organization to help support Cancer Survivors. Rev. Kathleen Daniels gave our Invocation. Lunch prepared by the TCCC was great!

We celebrated Holiday and Christmas cheer at the Triple Crown Country on Tuesday, December 17th.  We shared a fantastic lunch as our get together was attended by over 25 of our members.  We were entertained by singing christmas songs and festive piano playing by one of our guests, Jennifer Stokes.

The FWC celebrated a Christmas Luncheon. Our Christmas Luncheon was held on Tuesday, December 18th, 11:30 am at the Triple Crown Country Club, Union, KY.  Gary Greiser was our singer and entertainment this year!

Monday, May 28 our Florence Woman's Club participated in the Florence Memorial Day Parade. Members Barbara Crume, Sherrie Lou Noel, LaVerne Lawson, Jane Pfarner, and Joyce Foley participated.

December 19, 2017

We love visiting the Triple Crown Country Club for our Christmas "get-together".  The decorations are exquisite, for certain. Our meeting included a wonderful lunch and, as well, entertainment provided by the Northern Kentucky Dulcimer Group. We listened at first, then by the end of the performance sang along with them too.

 

April 18, 2017

The Triple Crown Country Club was the setting for our Annual Spring Luncheon. We at the Florence Woman's Club believe the American Cancer Society is deserving of our support and our luncheon primarily benefited them.  We had over one hundred and twenty-five attendees for this great event.  With speakers Matthew Schumann, Development Manager of the American Cancer Society, and Kathrine Nero, WCPO TV News Anchor, our luncheon meeting discussions focused on Cancer and taking aim for the cure. Our event featured a Derby theme - hats galore and spring was in the air.  Pink balloons commemorating the cure for cancer floated in the room. Live Auctions, Silent Auctions and the Bling Table were part of the wonderful agenda that helped make our meeting such a great success. Thank you to everyone who made this an event to remember.

We had a great time at our Annual Christmas luncheon with about 30 ladies, held at Triple Crown Country Club.  We had several guests and one new member.  It was cozy and enjoyable with the fireplace, decorations and ambiance.

The FWC Summer Picnic took place at the Florence Nature Center.  A wonderful lunch was served including Chic Fil-A Sandwiches (thanks Betsy) and side dishes provided by FWC members.  We installed our Club Officers for 2016-17 at the meeting.

Our Spring Fundraiser helping the American Cancer Society at the Triple Crown Country Club in Union, KY took place on a beautiful Spring-like Tuesday.  We had approximately ninety members and guests for our event. The room radiated of Spring, friendship and getting together for a good cause....primarily benefiting the American Cancer Society. Silent auctions, live auctions, a wonderful lunch and presentations by Heather Shaw, Community Manager and John Mays from the American Cancer Society made our afternoon a wonderful success.

The Triple Crown Country Club was the site for our Annual Christmas Party.  Our Florence Womans Club members met for lunch and to celebrate the Holiday Season. Gary Greisser was our entertainer as well as speaker for our event.  We had a good turnout with almost 30 of our members there.

The Dinsmore Homestead had their annual "Gala Fundraiser" at the Airport Marriott Hotel on Friday, October 9th, 2015 starting at 6:00 PM until 9:30 PM.  Many or our FWC members and other friends of Dinsmore had a great time!  We listened to the music of "Velvet Soul" and experienced a wonderful dinner.   A great "silent auction' accompanied the event. There was also a tribute given to Judge Bruce Ferguson and his family for his considerations to the Dinsmore Homestead.

May 2, 2015

The Dinsmore Homestead hosted a Derby Party for attendees who were interested in watching the Derby Festivities and enjoying one another's company.  Our Florence Woman's Club was well represented for this event.  We enjoyed the Rick Nye Group playing songs including of course "my Old Kentucky Home".  We watched the races on closed circuit TV and enjoyed a "Silent Auction" and great food and drink catered for the even (including a KY Mint Julep" if you wished. Beautiful flowers and centerpieces were available for purchase too. The fun lasted in the afternoon from 4:00 PM until after the Derby Horses ran and until 7:00 PM.

Once again, we enjoyed our annual Spring Benefit Luncheon Fundraiser, at the Triple Crown Country Club, Richwood, Ky. It was St. Patrick's Day and we were all green with excitement. Our event this year was in conjunction with the American Cancer Society. We had silent auction items and a wonderful lunch!  Betsy Conrad welcomed our special guest, Rhonda Chisenhall, who gave us information about the American Cancer Society.

For  celebrating Holiday and Christmas cheer we shared a fantastic lunch at the Triple Crown Country on Tuesday, December 16th.  Our get together was attended by over 25 of our members.  Jim Burcham played his guitar as we had lunch and remembered all the events and good times from 2014 with our club.

 

October 28, 2014

  Our 60th Anniversary party at the Gathering House in the beautiful woods and meadows of Florence Nature Park. A number of guests were present at our November meeting. The Honorable Bruce Ferguson, former Boone County (KY) Judge/Executive, presented a fascinating summary of Boone County’s rich history at our meeting in the Gathering House.  Kentucky Senator John Schickel presented us with a Senate citation honoring the Club for achieving 60 years of community service. Florence Vice Mayor Dr. Julie Metzger-Aubuchon presented our club with a document proclaiming Florence Woman’s Club Day in the City of Florence.  Present for the ceremony was Dr. Metzger-Aubuchon’s mother, Mrs. Audrey Metzger, Honorary Member and Past President of Florence Woman’s Club (1977-78).

The members of the Florence Woman’s Club welcomed their dear friend and former Club President (1996-98) Sarah Blanken Kahmann as guest speaker at the September 16th meeting. Mrs. Kahman, who served as Chair of the Kentucky Commission on Women, spoke about living a purposeful life as she recalled her own fascinating experiences. Sarah was one of the founders of “Enough is Enough,” an organization committed to keeping children and families safe from internet pornography. Pictured is Sarah Kahmann and Betsy Conrad.

The City of Florence had a Memorial Day Parade which the Florence Woman's Club participated in. Our member Joyce Foley stands with her most recently completed barn quilt "Sunbonnet Sue".  Linda Gritton, Barbara Ann Crume, and Sherrie Lou Noel get ready to line up in the Boone County High School parking lot. We had our annual SPRING Fundraiser, at Triple Crown Country Club, Richwood, Ky. This event was for the benefit of the American Cancer Society, which is celebrating their 100th Birthday!  We had silent auction items, a "bling" table of jewelry for sale, and more!  Our special guest was Mary Beth Hall, author of "Lessons From A Bald Chick" who did a "book signing".

We had our fall meeting at the Florence Nature Center.  Our hostesses were Rita Bitter, Joyce McCord, Karen Peterman, and Suzanne Green.  Our table was very festive with holiday food and decorations.

Our Florence Woman's Club held our Fall Meeting at the Triple Crown Country Club. Our fundraiser meeting was primarily for the benefit of the Women's Crisis Center with the theme "Helping Hands Making Changes".
