Who We Are
Welcome to the Florence Woman's Club Website!  We are a member of the General Federation of Women's Club, the GFWC. If this is your first viewing of our site, we hope you will take a little time to learn about this dynamic group of Northern Kentucky women.  We collaborate on a variety of community service projects and sponsor one major fundraiser per year. The members have become friends over the years, so our meetings are really enjoyable.  The Club generally meets the third Tuesday of the month, beginning at 1:00 pm.  Meetings will be held at the New Gathering House of the Florence Nature Park, located at 7200 Nature Park Dr.(off Banklick St.) Florence, KY. beginning May 2019. Come early to network!
The Florence Woman’s Club is an organization that was formed in 1954. We have dedicated over 65 years of community service, benefiting numerous charities serving Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati.  Our Club flower is the hyacinth.
We feel blessed to have many dynamic members of all ages with a strong sense of friendship, as well as a common purpose to help those in need.
We have one large fundraiser a year, plus service projects that promote education, conservation, arts, public issues, and international outreach in the community.

We held our Annual Fundraiser at Triple Crown Country Club, Union, on Tuesday, April 16th.  Our club did well with proceeds.  We will be helping the local Cancer Society, along with other charities.

Joyce and Marlene Brown attended the District Convention and our club received 4 awards for artwork, quilts, and photography.  Go girls!

**IMPORTANT NOTE:  Our next meeting will be the picnic on Tuesday, June 18th, noon, at our NEW old location at the Gathering House, Florence Nature Park, 7200 Nature Park Drive.  This will be our location through the end of the year, except Christmas, when we usually have it at Triple Crown.  We will be Celebrating our new officers for the 2019-20 year.  We are also looking for someone to
consider volunteering to be the FWC Photographer/Historian.  Our guest speaker is Susan Douglas from the Girl Scout Council. She will update us on the remodeling of the building in Erlanger.   And last of all, bring any "box tops for education" you may have for Collins Elementary School. We will have boxed lunches at a cost of $8 per person.  Be sure to pay Barb Crume prior to the meeting, if you didn't pay her at our meeting on the 21st.  Kudos to Pat Yannarella for being awarded the "Preservation Volunteer of the Year" award.  Yay Pat!! You deserve it!

In closing, keep our ill members in your prayers...Pat Yannarella, LaVerne Lawson and Rita Bitter.  We are hoping for speedy recoveries.

Remembering 2018

After years of leading our Florence Woman’s Club, we regretfully accepted the resignation of our President Betsy Conrad due to her illness. Betsy performed an excellent job as our President while contributing so much to our club in inspiration and leadership. Thank you so much Betsy Conrad!

Member Joyce Foley stepped forward and became our new President starting in March 2018 and called to order the GFWC Florence Woman’s Club (FWC) at the Florence Branch of the Boone County Public Library.

Monday, May 28 our Florence Woman's Club participated in the Florence Memorial Day Parade. Members Barbara Crume, Sherrie Lou Noel, LaVerne Lawson, Jane Pfarner, and Joyce Foley participated.

At the GFWC-KY 5th/6th District Meeting in Lexington, September 29. The FWC received awards in the category of Arts, Crafts, Needlework and Photography Contests.  We had six entries.  Karen Peterman won first place in photography/scenic and in jewelry/necklace.  Joyce Foley won first place for her quilt.  Marlene Brown won first place for her water color, and second place for her acrylic painting and her fall wreath.  The first place winners will go to State for the State judging in April, 2019.
