Investing Competition
Student's will have the opportunity to invest in different securities in a race to make more than their peers. Throughout the competition, students will invest into stocks, bonds, mutual funds & ETF's as we explore different ways to make our money grow.
Need to Know's
Account Setup (@ http://app.smartstocks.com/users/sign_up)
1) Only give the first letter of your first name
2) Type out your last name
3) Use your GIPS username and GIPS email
4) Choose a 6 character password of your choice that you will remember. I will not have access to your account what-so-ever!
5) Unclick any newsletters
6) Unclick any partner offers
7) Click REGISTER NOW
8) Click on "Groups"
9) Search for "Westridge8"
10) Click "JOIN PRIVATE LEAGUE"
11) Password is "cougars"
Purchasing a Stock, Bond, Mutual Fund or ETF:
1) Make sure you are in your class' portfolio on the left side
2) Click the green button: New Trade
3) Click "Buy"
4) Type in the stock symbol (If unknown, ask google!)
5) Using the information on the right side of the screen, type how many shares you want to buy in the "Number of Shares" box.
6) Click "Make Trade"
Selling a Stock, Bond, Mutual Fund or ETF:
1) Make sure you are in your class' portfolio on the left side
2) Identify the stock symbol and how many you have of the stock you want to sell.
3) Click the green button: New Trade
4) Click "Sell"
5) Type in the stock symbol (Posted )
6) Type how many shares you want to buy in the "Number of Shares" box.
6) Click "Make Trade"
